Blogging Resources
In my journey of setting up this webiste, I came acrossed plenty of blogging platforms which interested me, as well as some guides I read on setting up websites in Hugo and Jekyll specifically. Here I have collected it all, which can be very useful when I see people on Mastodon ask for blog platform advice!
Creating An Ambient Music Server
I was recently given a free one year trial to a premium podcast feed which specialised in getting you to sleep. It features bedtime stories for adults and children, reads royalty-free literature, and also provides eight-hour mixes of ambient music, including ASMR rain, gentle piano playing, coffee shop background noise, binaural sounds, and so on.
While being read to doesn’t help me get to sleep, and nor does ambient music actually, I do like listening to various long looped sounds to help me focus during the day and help me unwind at nights. So, as I poked around the podcast feed, liking what I was hearing, I had an idea of archiving these eight-hour mixes to continue listening after the trial has ended, and I’ll go into detail how in this short post.

Recipe Management
With the recent kernel panic in my Raspberry Pi, I had to reinstall and setup the applications once again for my self hosted server. This, combined with a desire to simplify my life, has meant some changes to how to manage my recipes, and I’ll go through the changes in this short post.
Rest of 2023 (+Looking At 2024)
2023 was overall a good year in terms of exploring who I am, gaining new skills, and trying to adapt to the world around me as an autistic person. However, as the year was coming to an end, I faced health issues which restricted my energy and resulted in many things taking a backseat. This website was one of them, as I had little capability to keep it up to date.
In this long and rambling post, I’ll look back on the year gone, and forward to 2024.
